1 arrested for hurting religious sentiments in Dhaka’s Adabor
Police have arrested a man from Shekhertek of Adabor police station in the capital on charges of hurting religious sentiments.
1 arrested for hurting religious sentiments, Police arrested this man named Bidhan Chandra Das around noon today, Friday. He is an employee of a local salon.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Adabor police station on duty Md. Sohel Rana told Prothom Alo that according to the complaint, a man named Nazmul Hasan Khandaker went to a salon in Shekhertek to get a haircut on Thursday. At one point during the conversation, Nazmul alleged that Bidhan insulted the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). This morning, Nazmul went to the spot with a group of local people. Later, they informed the Adabor police station. Around 12 noon, the police went to the spot and arrested Bidhan and brought him to the Adabor police station.
SI Sohel Rana also said that after the arrest, a group of local people took a position in front of the police station demanding to file a case against Bidhan. Later, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station assured to file a case. They then left the police station. The process of filing a case against Vidhan for hurting religious sentiments is underway.
