A ship carrying 29,000 tonnes of rice from Vietnam arrived at the Chittagong port on Saturday. The ship, MV OBE Dinares, anchored at the Chittagong port with rice under the Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement signed on February 3, the food ministry said in a press release. The statement also said that the sample testing of the rice on board the ship has already been completed and the work of unloading the rice will begin soon.

It is worth noting that an agreement was signed to import a total of one lakh metric tonnes of rice from Vietnam on the basis of G2G. Of this, 30,300 metric tonnes of rice in two consignments have already reached the country.
