Pori Moni accused of torturing domestic worker, what the police are saying
The much-discussed and criticized actress Pori Moni has been accused of torturing her domestic worker. The actress has been accused of beating her domestic worker over feeding her one-year-old child. Pinky Akhter, the victim in this incident, filed a complaint with Bhatara Police Station in Dhaka on Thursday night. Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mazharul Islam confirmed the complaint.
Citing the complaint, domestic worker Pinky Akhter said that she joined the house of actress Pori Moni a month ago through a person named Kader. Her responsibility was to look after Pori Moni’s one-year-old daughter and feed her. Pori Moni’s child was to be fed every two hours. She followed that and fed the child every two hours. However, even though she was taken to look after the child, she was also made to do other household chores. Pinky claimed in the media that on April 2, she was listing the market with her child at Pori Moni’s house. At this time, the baby started crying. In the meantime, a man named Saurabh, who is known to Parimoni and occasionally comes to her house, hearing the crying, told her, ‘Give the baby some solid food.’ Then she told Saurabh that the baby had eaten solid food a while ago; it has not been two hours yet. He will feed him milk after finishing work. Pinki told the media, ‘I came here and found out that the housekeeper who was before me also used to give milk sometimes when the baby cried. Saying this, I was preparing milk for the baby. In the meantime, Parimoni came out of the makeup room and started abusing me in foul language – why did I take milk for the baby? I then told her that since it was not time to give solid food yet, I took milk. Then Parimoni abused her and said, “Is the baby yours or mine?” After that, she started slapping me and hitting me hard on the head. After the beating, I started crying loudly and told him, I can’t take it anymore, take me to the hospital. Then he abused me in foul language and said, “You won’t be able to go anywhere from here. I will beat you here and treat you here.” Saying this, he came to beat me again. Then Saurabh stopped him. Parimoni also abused him for why Saurabh stopped her.
