Bangladesh strongly condemns massacre in Gaza

Bangladesh has strongly condemned the ongoing genocide and gross human rights violations by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The Foreign Ministry condemned it in a statement on Monday, saying, “The Bangladesh government has demanded that Israel immediately cease all military operations, exercise utmost restraint and abide by international humanitarian law.”

The statement also said that Bangladesh strongly condemns the indiscriminate bombing of densely populated civilian areas in Gaza by the Israeli occupation forces in order to carry out an operation of ‘ethnic cleansing’ against the unarmed Palestinian population.

Since the unilateral ceasefire violation last month, many Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s ongoing attacks, most of whom are women and children. In addition, humanitarian aid has been blocked in Gaza, which is pushing the region towards a humanitarian disaster.

The Foreign Ministry said that despite repeated calls to Israel from the international community, they have not paid any attention to it; Rather, they have engaged in increasing massacres. Bangladesh has called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate and effective steps to implement an unconditional ceasefire. The statement called for an end to all ceasefires in Gaza to protect the lives of civilians and deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Bangladesh government’s strong support for the Palestinian people’s full and just rights, the right to self-determination, and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Bangladesh government, in a statement, reiterated the need for negotiations to establish a lasting peace in the Middle East, saying it is crucial for regional and global stability.

Bangladesh called on all concerned to commit themselves to the path of diplomacy and dialogue to end the violence against the Palestinians and their suffering.

The Foreign Ministry statement said that Bangladesh is steadfast and unequivocal in its call on the world community to work towards a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue based on international law, UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinians for peace, dignity and justice.
