The press release said that 57 Bangladeshis who were stranded in war-torn Lebanon and wanted to return home voluntarily were brought home today, Thursday, at full government expense. So far, a total of 1,199 Bangladeshis have been repatriated from Lebanon to Bangladesh in 18 flights.

The helpless Bangladeshi nationals who were repatriated were received at the airport by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke to the Bangladeshis who returned at the airport about the horrors of the war and inquired about them. So far, one Bangladeshi has been reported killed in a bomb attack.
