College student dies after losing control of motorcycle in Demra
The tragic death of 17-year-old Md. Arafat Uddin, a college student, has cast a pall over the Demra area of Dhaka. Arafat lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred around 8:30 PM on Saturday in the staff quarter vicinity. The incident, stemming from a high-speed collision with a road divider, has left his family and friends in deep mourning.
According to Demra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudur Rahman, Arafat was riding his motorcycle on the Dhaka-Demra highway, accompanied by a friend. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a considerable speed when Arafat lost control, resulting in a forceful impact with the road divider. Both Arafat and his friend sustained severe injuries.
Following the accident, they were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Tragically, the attending physician declared Arafat dead upon arrival. His friend, who also suffered serious injuries, is currently receiving medical treatment at Shanto Medical College. The severity of the crash underscores the dangers associated with high-speed motorcycle riding, particularly in densely populated urban areas.
Arafat resided with his family in the Bamoil area of Demra. His untimely demise has left a void in the community. His body has been transferred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, a standard procedure in such cases.
