Hollywood’s Tom Holland and Zendaya have already announced their engagement. They have been in a relationship for a long time. However, before this announcement, Tom Holland’s statement in an interview has spread across the internet. In that interview, he announced his plan to quit acting for his family.
In an interview given to Men’s Health magazine published on January 2, the 28-year-old actor spoke openly about his career in Hollywood. He mentioned that he had a busy schedule for many years, but after becoming a father, it will no longer be like that.
The star of the popular movie ‘Uncharted’ said, ‘When I have a child, I will not be seen in movies anymore.’
Tom Holland has been in a relationship with Zendaya since 2021. He said that after having a child, he will only play golf and be an ideal ‘father’. ‘Then I will disappear from the face of the earth,’ added the actor.
Holland has spoken about taking a break from acting before, but for different reasons. In 2023, he announced that he would be taking a year-long hiatus from Hollywood after playing a particularly challenging role in the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room.
At the time, Holland told Extra TV, “I’m no stranger to hard work, I’ve always believed that hard work is good work. I’ve enjoyed it a lot. But again, this show has broken me. There was a time when I thought I needed to take a break. I was lost. I went to Mexico for a week and spent time on a beach and just kind of laid back. Now I’m taking a year-long hiatus.”
Holland is back with a new project, where he’s joined by his girlfriend Zendaya. It was announced last November that Zendaya will be working on Christopher Nolan’s next big project. The film stars Holland, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.
The film is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026. Nolan is making the film based on the ancient Greek epic poem ‘The Odyssey’. The epic is considered one of the most important works of ancient literature. The epic poem is written by the poet Homer and is believed to have been written in the 8th century BC. It is the story of the Greek hero Odysseus, who goes through various dangerous journeys on his way back to his kingdom Ithaca after the Trojan War.
This is not the first time Holland and Zendaya have worked together. They first came close to each other on the set of the movie ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ in 2016. They then starred opposite each other in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland discussed the duo’s new project on the Dish podcast last December. There, he joked that there are reasons why producers like to cast the duo in movies. Like—a hotel room is enough!
