Media reform: Chief advisor Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus said that initiatives will be taken to implement the immediately implementable recommendations after accepting the report of the Media Reform Commission at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday. While accepting the report of the commission at the state guest house Jamuna, he said, “We want to implement those reform proposals that can be implemented now quickly.” For this, he urged the commission to present the immediately implementable recommendations separately.
The chief advisor called the report of the commission “priceless” and suggested making it suitable for reading for everyone, including students of the journalism department of the university.
According to the commission, Bangladeshis living abroad cannot watch domestic television channels because they are forced to use a specific satellite. In this regard, the chief advisor said that the government will take necessary measures so that Bangladeshis living abroad and interested foreigners can watch domestic television channels.
The other members of the commission, headed by senior journalist Kamal Ahmed, include Professor Geetiara Nasreen, Shamsul Haque Zahid, Anjan Chowdhury, Akhtar Hossain Khan, Syed Abdal Ahmed, Fahim Ahmed, Jimmy Amir, Mostafa Sabuj, Titu Dutta Gupta and Abdullah Al Mamun.
