In the briefing, KMP Additional Police Commissioner (Admin and Finance) Abu Raihan Md. Saleh said, on Wednesday night, the police came to know that a shootout took place between two groups of terrorists on Bangalbari Road under Harintana police station. One person was injured in the incident. Harintana and Aranghata police stations conducted an extensive investigation in this regard and identified Khairul Sardar (27), who was undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital. After questioning him, it was learned that while he was buying a weapon in Bangalbari area under Harintana police station, a pistol bullet inadvertently fired and hit his left palm.

The briefing said that after that, Harintana police and detective police conducted a drive in Bangalbari area today, Thursday, with Khairul Sardar. When Khairul, who was shot, showed the house of arms dealer Faruk Hossain (23), the police searched the house. At that time, Faruk was arrested. During interrogation, Faruk admitted to having weapons. At one stage, based on his information, two foreign pistols were recovered from the pile of firewood in the kitchen, a shotgun and seven shotgun bullets kept in a tin box in the house, eight pistol bullets and a ramda from the wall inside the house.
