Trade Advisor: Prices of Prime Minister’s Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin said that commodity prices will remain stable during the month of Ramadan and will further decline. He said this at the post-iftar gathering of Imams and Khatibs organized by Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Dhaka Metropolitan at Jamia Madaniya Baridhara Madrasa Auditorium in the capital on Wednesday (March 12). Sheikh Bashir Uddin said that one of the reasons for the August 5 student uprising was wealth inequality. In order to eliminate this inequality, the Islamic model of Karje Hasana and Zakat can play an important role. Zakat is an effective Islamic method of wealth distribution. If Imams and Khatibs encourage people to pay Zakat, a balanced distribution of wealth will be ensured and poverty will be reduced. Zakat discourages hoarding.
Trade Advisor: Prices of The Commerce Advisor also said that TCB conducts activities worth Tk 12,000 crore annually, of which the government subsidy is Tk 4,500 crore. He called for the involvement of leaders of all religions in properly selecting the 10 million marginalized families of TCB. The rally was attended by Hefazat-e-Islam Dhaka Metropolitan President Muhammad Junaid Al Habib, General Secretary Muhammad Mamunul Haque, leaders of various levels of Hefazat, and Khatibs and Imams of various mosques.
