Wherever you find Awami League you will put them in jail by mass-washing: NCP leader Joynal in Comilla
If any party wants to transform from oppressed to oppressor, they will be defeated like the Awami League, said Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) Joint Member Secretary Joynal Abedin (Shishir). He made this comment at a rally and Iftar mahfil organized at Bagmara High School ground in Lalmai Upazila of Comilla before Iftar on Friday.
The rally was organized under the banner of Lalmai Upazila NCP to demand ‘trial of Awami League for genocide, cancellation of registration, and ban on political and organizational activities’.
Speaking as the chief guest, Joynal Abedin said, ‘I have heard in the past that Comilla is a base for Awami terrorists. But we want to say that wherever there is Awami League in Comilla, there is mass ablution. Wherever you find Awami League, you will fill it with mass ablution and jail. Our slogan against the Awami League is – Catch one league, catch one and throw it in jail.’ Noting that some people are now trying to deny the July Revolution, Joynal Abedin said, ‘They are not calling it the second independence. They are saying that it was not a revolution at all. You were our collaborators. You were oppressed for so long. If you now want to transform from oppressed to oppressor, we will defeat you like the Awami League.’
Joynal Abedin also said, ‘Every martyr of July should be given state status. We call on the interim government to immediately publish the July Declaration. Declare the Second Republic (independence). Many tricks have been played with the fate of the people of Bangladesh. Attempts are still being made to play. The National Assembly elections and the Constituent Assembly elections should be held simultaneously. If there is an exception to this, the great heroes of the July Movement will come out on the streets again to give fresh blood from their chests.’
The gathering and iftar mahfil were attended by NCP central member Hafsa Jahan, NCP’s Fazle Elahi, Humayun Kabir, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Comilla Metropolitan Committee Abu Raihan, member secretary Muhammad Rashedul Hasan, and others.
After the iftar mahfil, NCP leaders held a protest march at Bagmara Bazar on the Comilla-Noakhali regional highway demanding the cancellation of the Awami League’s registration. The march started in front of Bagmara High School and ended at Bagmara South Bazar. During this, they raised various slogans against the Awami League.
